Apple picking in Westchester County truly is a special time of year. It’s one of the area’s most prized traditions, and we’ve compiled a list of the best apple picking places in Westchester where you can not only find apples, but all of the derivatives of apples and fall activities, including cider, baked goods, hay rides and more.
Wilkins Fruit & Fir Farm sells a plethora of Apples, Pumpkins and Peaches, which make up their “Pick-Your-Own” items.
You’ll also enjoy their three farm markets, where they sell their own pressed apple cider, freshly baked pies, their famous apple cider donuts, as well as gift items. There is even a corn maze!
Their harvest season starts in August with peaches, and then transitions towards Apples at the beginning of September. Additionally, pick-your-own-pumpkins start in October, and Choose-n-Cut Christmas Trees following Thanksgiving.

Stuart's Fruit Farm is a family-operated farm since 1828. It originally began as a cattle farm, and evolved into an agricultural farm.
Stuart’s Farm opened for apple picking season on September 6, and is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The amenities include a bakery, where you’ll find delicious donuts, pies, a variety of other treats, and a farm stand with fresh produce, such as peaches, tomatoes and corn.
Hayrides around the orchard and corn mazes are also available, and you can come back closer to the holidays to pick out a Christmas tree.
62 Granite Springs Rd, Granite Springs
Soons grows 85 apple varieties in 35 acres of orchard. Some are more common, like the ultra-crisp Honeycrisp or versatile Braeburn, while others are rare heirloom varieties, such as Northern Spy or Newtown Pippin. There are also the apples perfect for hard cider – with unique names like Sheep’s Nose and Ashmead’s Kernel.
Apple picking at Soons Orchards is available this fall season starting Labor Day weekend, followed by pumpkin picking. You can also explore the orchard store, Scotty’s Country Kitchen, the Cider Mill Tap Room, or treat yourself to one of the orchard’s famous farm dinners.
23 Soons Cir, New Hampton
Pennings Orchard is open for daily apple picking from 9 p.m. to 5 p.m (as of August 27). While visiting the farm, be sure to visit the cows in the dairy barn, and let the kids enjoy the kiddie maze, play area, and farm animals. No reservations are required.
169 State Rd. 94 South, Warwick
At Outhouse Orchards, you are guaranteed to find a variety of apples, pears and peaches to pick through the months of September and October.
Be sure to note that reservations are required for weekend visits, but not required for weekday trips (except for select Holidays).
139 Hardscrabble Rd, North Salem
Harvest Moon Farm & Orchard is a family owned and operated apple orchard in North Salem. Apple picking here is by reservation only, and weekends only, including Columbus Day during picking season.
Each General Admission ticket provides access to the grounds, featuring their stunning hillside orchard. Guests can enjoy a classic Fall day, strolling the grounds while taking in the breathtaking, panoramic views of the beautiful Hudson Valley.
Food options include BBQ lunch, their own farm-raised, grass-fed burger, fresh, hot apple cider donuts, all while enjoying live music.
130 Hardscrabble Rd, North Salem
Fishkill Farms is a 270-acre apple orchard and vegetable farm located in East Fishkill, New York, and has been in the Morgenthau family for over 100 years.
Apple picking at Fishkill Farms is open by reservation for apples, pears, berries, flowers, pumpkins, tomatoes and more! The farm also features wagon rides, music, hard cider, and a corn maze throughout September and October.
